I am currently working with Monash University to develop a ResearchKit application for the Monash Institute of Cognitive and Clinical Neurosciences. The application will be the first in Australia to leverage Apple’s ResearchKit, and make the framework accessible to non-technical users who will be able to deploy research campaigns using an accompanying website. The backend of this application is a python Django API which will be deployed on secure servers. Following the deployment of the iOS application in late January 2016, I will be working towards porting ResearchKit to Android as an open source project. The results of this will then be used to create the Android version of Project Cushing. This project was commissioned off the back of the success of project Girror at Health Hack 2014.
ConnectED is an app that a practitioner (teacher) can use to log potential teaching opportunities in real time, so learners can find out about specific learning opportunities in that healthcare setting. ConnectED was the winning project from Health Hack 2015. The team created both and Android and an iOS application, and I was the iOS developer. Since then, work has continued on the project and the team is working towards a beta launch and clinical trials. Current features include targeted notification subscriptions, easy event logging, unique user settings a presets and the ability to maintain cleanly searchable data sets. Future features will include an operations dashboard and reporting for use in education compliance and tracking.
